My Secret Fast Food Addiction

I have a secret fast food addiction.
I buy a fresh cob of sweet corn still wrapped in its papery green husk, put it in the microwave for 10-15 minutes, peel away the leaves and chow down. No need for salt, butter or any other flavouring. Just natural the way Mother Nature intended. Try it some time when you're feeling naughty.

  1. I've never tried corn in the microwave. I admit, it really does sit rather forlornly most of the time 'watching' me use the stove opposite it. I can suggest though Indira, if you get the opportunity to try corn, genuinely fresh corn (not long picked) you can speed it up further. Peel and eat. Yes, raw:) When it's really fresh, you can have it completely natural:) Hehe, for some reason 'microwaved' and 'nature' working together thogh amuses me:) A bit of yin and yang there!

    Hi Cath,
I think I may have a low-wattage microwave or heat-resistant corn! Thanks for the lime juice and tabasco tips. Indira

  7. Corn on the cob is brilliant food for teething babies too... mine loved gnawing on it. Freshly picked raw corn is yummo!!! ...but watch out for all that juicy goodness squirting everywhere :)
