I have a secret fast food addiction.
I buy a fresh cob of sweet corn still wrapped in its papery green husk, put it in the microwave for 10-15 minutes, peel away the leaves and chow down. No need for salt, butter or any other flavouring. Just natural the way Mother Nature intended. Try it some time when you're feeling naughty.
I've never tried corn in the microwave. I admit, it really does sit rather forlornly most of the time 'watching' me use the stove opposite it. I can suggest though Indira, if you get the opportunity to try corn, genuinely fresh corn (not long picked) you can speed it up further. Peel and eat. Yes, raw:) When it's really fresh, you can have it completely natural:) Hehe, for some reason 'microwaved' and 'nature' working together thogh amuses me:) A bit of yin and yang there!
ReplyDeleteHi Coby,
ReplyDeleteNo never tried just-picked sweet corn raw. Must add that to the '100 Things I have to eat before I lose my teeth'.Indira
What's naughty about corn?
ReplyDelete15 minutes? Really? I do mine for 3-4 minutes. Also, try a sprinkle of lime juice and tabasco sauce for extra noms.
ReplyDeleteHi Andrew,
ReplyDeleteyou're too pure to be sullied with the dirty details. Indira
Hi Cath,
I think I may have a low-wattage microwave or heat-resistant corn! Thanks for the lime juice and tabasco tips. Indira
LOL Well, let's hope that's at least a half a century away! Goodness knows I'd miss crusty bread!
ReplyDeleteCorn on the cob is brilliant food for teething babies too... mine loved gnawing on it. Freshly picked raw corn is yummo!!! ...but watch out for all that juicy goodness squirting everywhere :)
ReplyDeleteHi Coby,
ReplyDeleteI'll be exploring dental implants before doing without my favourite foods. Nothing I enjoy more than gnawing on a bone... Indira
Hi Sally,
Will pass that tip on to my new mother-to-be- friend. Thanks indira
